Sectional Staging. We provide
Portable Staging manufactured in Aluminium or light
gauge Mild Steel.
This staging can be made to any specifications,
and used for people either sitting or standing.
Initially we were contacted by a photographic Company
to design and build a suitable construction the
take large group photographs.
The unit must be light and durable enough, to be
transported easily and erected and disassemble quickly
and efficiently by a minimum number of people. Two
designs have arisen. The first staging units we
manufactured were all aluminium design and although
they fulfilled all specifications they were expensive
to produce. The second more cost effective method
was to mix very strong light gauge electrically
seam welded mild steel box section for the main
frame of the construction and to have these components
galvanised. The treads and walkways for strength
and efficiency were constructed from aluminium.
The staging units can now be constructed to any
size that is required, as the components are manufactured
in a modular manner. For instance the staging erects
in bays of five steps, each 3 metres long with a
main frame at each end, after the first five steps
are erected another frame can be added and another
five platforms can be installed and so on.
This can go on for as long as your requirements
need. In addition it has to be remembered that the
frame to the immediate left and the immediate right
must be of the type with handrails and the back
rails must be installed to stop people falling off
the back. If however you still need more surface
area the option is to go up a further five steps.
Because all components are uniform in their design
the back rail can be removed. A jack up kit fitted
to the rear of the terrace and then the same frames
used below will locate directly on to the bottom
frames at the point where the back rails were located.
A further five platforms can now be fitted.

A.J.Woods Engineering regularly fabricate bespoke furniture and architectural features in Stainless Steel and Mild Steel with powder coated finish to architects specifications.
Stainless Steel Shopfronts.
Window frames and cladding manufactured in stainless steel to meet customer's requirements with satin or mirror polished finish. The project shown is a large retail development on the outskirts of Porto, Portugal.
